Despite enjoying the look of stamps, I’ve avoided becoming a philatelist for the same reason I’ve avoided getting too into record collecting: I really do not need a reason to be buying more stuff, especially old stuff. However, I will reluctantly admit that seeing Ashley Shiyan Zhu’s stamp collection, featured here today, made me heavily reconsider that perspective.
I love these... and now I want to make my own stamps!! Just as a fun artistic project, I mean, not looking to commit mail fraud. I want people to lick my designs, darn it >:')
I went down an eBay rabbit hole of handmade first day covers that were illustrated by individual collectors. Found one in particular who made beautiful collages using postal bulletins and related stamps. I’ve been posting them here: https://www.instagram.com/rantocovers
omg these are amazing
Stamps are among my sometimes collectibles but the movie Charade always re-piques my interest in them.
i'm as enamored with the stamps as i am with the stamps.
These are beautiful.
Hmm, do I *really* need another design oriented hobby? 😅
Love this!!! Very interesting and the art behind them reminds me of TP!!
I have just recently started collecting day of issue stamps including Bruce Lee and lowrider cars
It’s addicting!
